Shark BITE!

BITE is MHA Carpenter Box’s one-day flagship event for entrepreneurs and businesses interested in growing their bottom line. It takes place on Thursday April 27th at the Amex Stadium, and like all our events, is free to attend. We have finalised our agenda for the day, and are pleased to announce our Keynote sessions:

Shark Tank South Africa’s Marnus Broodryk joins BITE 2017

Marnus Broodryk picMarnus Broodryk is a South African entrepreneur best known as one of the “Sharks” – a group of investors who offer ordinary South Africans investment in their businesses – on the reality show Shark Tank South Africa. A perfect fit for BITE2017!

Marnus will be talking about the mind of a successful entrepreneur – which is precisely what he is. He started his first business designing websites at the age of 14. By the time he turned 24 he was a self-made millionaire and entrepreneur, having launched several companies.

He joined Shark Tank South Africa in October 2016 as one of the five “Sharks”. Budding entrepreneurs go up in front of a panel of investors who are willing to invest their own money and time in potentially lucrative business ideas. For Marnus, however, making money is just as important as empowering others with the knowledge and resources to create their own successful enterprises.

Marnus is also the CEO of The Beancounter, which rather like MHA Carpenter Box, is making waves by disrupting the normal perception of accountants.

Alternative Funding panel with Q&A session

Reprising a very successful panel event last year, BITE 2017 also offers an impressive panel of alternative funding and industry experts. They’ll provide an insider’s guide to innovative routes to funding. You will also gain insight into how the panel sees the future of funding innovations, the impact of interest rates and other current issues surrounding alternative sources of finance.

We will welcome crowdfunding and invoice financing experts, as well as Andy Davis, a former editor with the Financial Times and author of ‘Beyond the Banks’, and our very own Terry Porter, who enjoyed a long and illustrious career with a number of the big four national banks. They will be taking questions from the audience around funding in general and alternative funding in particular.

And there’s more…

Along with two keynote sessions, BITE also offers the chance to meet exhibitors whose objective is to make business better. From tech companies to alternative funders, BITE aims to open eyes to what’s out there to help businesses grow.
